Strong patents harm development!
We organize arguments/articles supporting the view that strong patent enforcement benefit only a few actors in the developed countries. Most actors in the developed countries as well as the totality of actors in the emerging countries are harmed by strong patents.
In particular we oppose the patentability in two domains: software and business methods. We believe that patents in these areas are particularly harmful. We urge the emerging countries to take the lead of opposing the patentability of these domains, because they are the economies that would be the most affected by such patents. Since there is a strong world-wide resistance against the patentability of these domains, emerging countries are not alone in this struggle.
